Delta and LATAM team up to become official carriers of the Copa América 2024
US-based Delta Air Lines and South American carrier LATAM have announced that they have been named as the official airlines of the Copa América 2024, an international soccer championship that will run from June 20 to July 14, 2024, and held in 14 venues across the United States. The competition is one of the world’s most important soccer events, which in 2024 will bring together 16 American soccer teams.
In addition to this announcement, LATAM Group will also be offering exclusive promotions in some of the championship’s destinations in the days leading up to the start of the competition, as well as ticket raffles among its frequent flyers. The carrier will also be transforming its lounges in the region so that soccer fans from South America can enjoy the tournament’s competitive matches on giant screens
“In less than a month, athletes and attendees from different countries of the continent will travel to compete and enjoy this great sporting event, so good air connectivity is essential for the success of this tournament,” said Constanza Pizarro, Corporate Communications Manager of LATAM Airlines Group.

“The fact that Delta and the LATAM group, the airlines that best connect South and North America, are the sponsors of the Copa America 2024 is the perfect example of how both regions are meant to be together,” said Soledad Lago Rodríguez, Director of Communications and Brand for Delta Air Lines. “Both airlines share a vision and commitment to deliver an exceptional travel experience to all fans who mobilize to cheer on their teams.”
The announcement that the two carriers are pairing up to promote Copa América 2024 should come as no surprise as the two companies have been collaborating for some time on various other commercial and operational tie-ups. According to the carriers, their strategic partnership aims to “enhance the travel experience and expand access to destinations throughout the continents”.

Travelers can now seamlessly fly between cities served by the two carriers such as New York, São Paulo, Bogotá, and Santiago, while benefiting from convenient coordinated schedules and efficient connections.
Additionally, Delta passengers gain easier access to cities like Cusco, Peru, and Montevideo, Uruguay, via LATAM’s hubs. Similarly, LATAM travelers have convenient access to over 200 US destinations through Delta’s various US hubs. The partnership allows travelers to earn and redeem miles across both airlines, providing flexibility and value.
Since receiving final approval of their partnership, Delta and LATAM have extended the reach of their partnership and now collaborate on several new routes, including Bogota to Orlando, Los Angeles to Sao Paulo, Lima to Atlanta, Santiago to Orlando, and Santiago to Atlanta (all operated by LATAM), plus Atlanta to Cartagena flown by Delta.
