Discover Airlines announces fleet expansion, new business class cabins
Discover Airlines, the leisure-focused airline of the Lufthansa Group, announced on August 21, 2024, that it is planning to expand its fleet and introduce revamped cabins on all three service classes it currently offers (Business, Premium Economy and Economy).
Not much is known about the specifics of Discover’s new business class cabin, other than the fact that it will be fitted on its Airbus A330 fleet, and all seats will have direct aisle access. The premium product will also see new, more comfortable seats and larger, better screens installed for in-flight entertainment. The airline said in its announcement that the exact details are still being worked on.
Discover Airlines will also expand capacity with a net addition of six more aircraft over the next three years. In particular, six new Airbus A330-300 aircraft will join the fleet by mid-2027, replacing three smaller A330-200s and adding new capacity. Three new Airbus A320s will also be inducted into service as early as 2025.
With this investment, Discover Airlines will increase its fleet size to 33 aircraft from the current 27, as it aims to consolidate its prominent position in the German leisure travel market. The post Discover Airlines announces fleet expansion, new business class cabins appeared first on AeroTime.
