Electra Airways and Polish tour company launch new charter airline brand Air 001
Bulgarian ACMI and charter carrier Electra Airways has linked up with Polish tour operator ITAKA to launch a new airline brand called ‘Air 001’, with the intention of offering charter flights between Poland and a number of leisure destinations
Although it will have its own corporate identity, brand name and livery, the new airline will actually use Electra Airways’ Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
Air 001 is to have a fleet of four aircraft, three Airbus A320s and one A321, all of them provided by Electra Airways, painted in a colorful, eye-catching livery combining shades of red and pink, with the carrier’s brand stamped on the fuselage in large white letters.
The new charter carrier will start operating out of four Polish cities – Katowice (KTW), Warsaw (WAW), Wrocław (WRO) and Poznań (POZ) – during the summer season.
Crew and maintenance services, as well as all related operational aspects, will be the responsibility of Electra Airways, while ITAKA will commercialize the flights through its own distribution channels.
Electra Airways is based in Sofia, Bulgaria. According to the Ch-aviation database, as of April 25, 2025, it has an active fleet of seven Airbus A320 and one A321 aircraft (plus another two A320s listed as inactive).
