Embraer reaches 2,000 business jet deliveries with Praetor 500 executive jet

Embraer has reached the milestone of over 2,000 business jet deliveries with its Praetor 500 aircraft, demonstrating the increasing popularity of the Praetor family business jets. 

The milestone was reached when a Praetor 500 aircraft was delivered to an undisclosed corporate flight department during a ceremony at Embraer’s advanced Global Customer Center for Executive Jets in Melbourne, Florida, Embraer announced in a statement on August 28, 2025. 

According to Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, the delivery highlights the growing popularity of the Praetor family jets, especially among major corporate flight departments. 

“Both the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 have become aircraft of choice for their disruptive technology and unmatched performance, demonstrating the confidence these corporations place in Embraer,” Amalfitano added. 

The manufacturer claims that the Praetor 500 jet is “the most disruptive and technologically advanced business jet in its class”. The aircraft has an intercontinental range of 3,340 nautical miles (6,186 kilometers) when carrying four passengers and includes NBAA IFR Reserves. 

This capability allows the aircraft to connect passengers to more global destinations around the world, enabling nonstop flights across North America, including routes such as Miami-Seattle or Los Angeles-New York. 

Following on from the Praetor 500, the larger Praetor 600 jet can fly nonstop from London to New York or from São Paulo to Miami. With four passengers and NBAA IFR Reserves, the aircraft has a range of 4,018 nautical miles (7,441 kilometers) for intercontinental flights. 

Both aircraft offer technology typically found in larger jets, such as full fly-by-wire with active turbulence reduction, while also delivering short runway performance comparable to smaller aircraft, according to Embraer. 

Since 2002, when the first executive jet model was launched, Embraer’s executive aviation sector has seen an average compound growth rate of 14%. In 2024, nearly one-third of all small and midsize cabin jets delivered were either an Embraer Phenom or Praetor.
