Etihad Airways sees record July 2025 traffic, passenger numbers reach 2 million
Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways has reported a 19% increase in passengers for July 2025, reaching two million compared to the same month last year when it flew 1.7 million passengers.
On August 13, 2025, the airline released its traffic statistics for July 2025, reporting “continued growth in passenger volumes and network expansion”.
The airline reported that the passenger load factor rose to 90%, up 1% compared to July 2024, reflecting “strong demand and effective capacity management”.
Etihad said it has welcomed 12.2 million passengers so far this year, marking a 17% rise compared to the same timeframe in 2024, with an average passenger load factor of 88%, up 2%.
Additionally, the airline said it has achieved a total of 20.3 million passengers over the last 12 months.
“We continue to see strong momentum in our performance. Our rolling 12-month total has surpassed 20 million for the first time in our history reflecting the trust our customers place in our service and the strength of our network,” Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways said.
The airline currently has 111 aircraft in its operating fleet, serving a network of 81 passenger destinations – an increase from 76 a year earlier. According to Etihad, these figures underscore its “ongoing investment in fleet and route development”.
Record deliveries in July 2025
Etihad announced that July 2025 was also the busiest month for aircraft deliveries in the company’s history.
Throughout July 2025, Etihad took delivery of five aircraft including its inaugural A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one Airbus A350-1000, and one Airbus A320.
Neves said July 2025 was a “record month” for the airline, stating that the addition of these new aircraft “reflect its commitment to growth and boosting capacity across the global network”.
The airline received its first Airbus A321LR, which is the first of 30 A321LR aircraft planned for its fleet, at the end of July 2025. The aircraft began commercial flights on August 1, 2025, initially operating Abu Dhabi–Phuket before rotating onto additional routes as part of Etihad’s wider expansion.
