Fête de l’Air et de l’Espace
This Sunday, May 18, the Les Mureaux-Verneuil airfield in the Yvelines region (78) hosts the now traditional Fête de l’Air et de l’Espace, with some 15,000 spectators expected.
A not-to-be-missed air show in the western Paris region, the Fête de l’Air et de l’Espace (first held in 2001) is set to live up to its promise once again this year! On Sunday, May 18, spectators will be able to enjoy traditional activities such as: first flights, immersive activities (including several simulators), meetings with aeronautical professionals and a “little pilots’ park” (inflatable structures, creative workshops, face painting, simulator, sun and space observation, etc.) for the little ones.
As for the aerial demonstrations, spectators will be able to admire high-level performances. Despite the withdrawal of the Patrouille de France, they will be able to witness the prowess of the French Air Force aerobatic team, the Yako Team patrol, the French Air Force Rafale Solo Display and many others. New this year: the Free Flight World Masters challenge, where the public can judge the performance of pilots and their aircraft by applause.
The presence of Florent Oddon, multi-world aerobatics champion, is also announced, as is the arrival of Raid police officers, who will be performing a parachute landing and a hostage-taking simulation on a building. All in all, a day not to be missed!
