First Lufthansa Boeing 787-9 with the new Allegris cabin arrives in Frankfurt
German flag carrier Lufthansa received the first Boeing 787-9 fitted with the new Allegris cabin on August 30, 2025.
The new aircraft (registration D-ABPF) arrived at the airline’s main hub in Frankfurt (FRA) after a nine-hour 24-minute nonstop flight from Boeing’s manufacturing facility in Paine Field (PAIE), in Everett, Washington.
Starting this October, Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), in Canada, is going to be the first destination of this first Allegris-fitted Dreamliner, which will enter service as soon as the new cabin is certified for Boeing 787 aircraft.
Allegris is Lufthansa’s state-of-the art premium cabin, including new luxurious private First Class suites and a thoroughly revamped Business Class with a variety of seat choices designed for different profiles of travelers.
Allegris had its commercial debut in the summer season of 2024 and, notwithstanding some initial supply chain issues which delayed the fitting of First Class seats, it has since been rolled out across the airline’s Munich-based A350-900 fleet.
With the arrival of the new B787-9, the airline will also be able to offer the Allegris experience onboard its Frankfurt-based fleet.
LufthansaWithin the next few years, Lufthansa expects to fit at least 78 of its widebody aircraft with the Allegris cabin, including the Boeing 747-8i fleet, which are also being retrofitted with the new premium product.
As of August 2025, Lufthansa Airlines operates five Boeing 787-9s. The Lufthansa Group has another 34 on order, plus 13 options, with deliveries expected between 2025 and 2028. In this regard, before the end of 2025 nine additional B787-9s are expected to arrive in Frankfurt from the US, ahead of their commercial deployment.
