Hunnu Air orders Mongolia’s first ever Cessna SkyCouriers from Textron
Textron Aviation has announced that Hunnu Air has placed an order for two Cessna SkyCourier aircraft and a single Grand Caravan EX.
The US aircraft manufacturer said on August 11, 2025, that the order included two passenger variants of the Cessna SkyCourier with deliveries of all three new aircraft expected to begin in 2026.
According to Textron, it will be the first time that a Cessna SkyCourier will enter service in Mongolia.
“Designed for versatility and performance, the Cessna SkyCourier is a strong fit to support Hunnu Air’s services across Mongolia. The increasing global popularity of the aircraft underscores its exceptional adaptability in supporting air freight, charter and special missions use cases, showcasing its broad appeal across diverse operational sectors,” said Lannie O’Bannion, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
Hunnu Air will use the Cessna SkyCourier to enhance domestic tourism and cargo operations within Mongolia.
“With its exceptional performance, reliability and capacity, the SkyCourier is well-suited for VIP operations across Mongolia’s vast and diverse landscapes, providing greater accessibility to remote and scenic destinations,” said a spokesperson for Textron.
In April 2025, Hunnu Air was announced as the first Mongolian Embraer E195-E2 operator, following the country’s aviation regulator awarding the aircraft type certification.
The airline’s first scheduled flight using the E195-E2 began the following month flight from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing’s Daxing International Airport (PKX).
Earlier this year, Textron also celebrated the first Canadian delivery of the Cessna SkyCourier turboprop to Air Bravo Corporation.
At the time Rick Horwath, President and CEO, Air Bravo said: “We’re proud to be the first SkyCourier customer in Canada, and this aircraft is a perfect fit for supporting the cargo side of our business. The aircraft has a roomy cockpit, it’s easy to fly and the avionics are user friendly. We look forward to putting it to use.”
The SkyCourier is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65SC turboprop engines and features the McCauley Propeller C779.
