Iberia launches first transatlantic A321XLR service
Iberia operated the first revenue service across the Atlantic using its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft on November 14, 2024.
Iberia flight IB347 departed Madrid-Barajas (MAD) at 13.00 local time bound for Boston-Logan (BOS), where it is expected to land at around 14.15 local time.

In early November 2024, passengers on flights between Madrid and Paris (CDG) and Barcelona (BCN) were able to experience the two-class A321XLR cabin ahead of its official presentation when Iberia performed crew familiarization flights within Europe.
Iberia plans to deploy its A321XLRs on routes across the Atlantic, the primary mission for which this aircraft was designed. In addition to Boston, the Spanish airline plans to launch A321XLR services to Washington-Dulles (IAD) as soon as it receives the second aircraft of the type in early 2025.
