IndiGo adds London-Heathrow to growing list of long-haul European destinations
IndiGo will fly daily to London-Heathrow Airport (LHR) as the airline looks to increase its growing list of long-haul European destinations.
The low-cost carrier announced the launch on its 19th anniversary with October 26, 2025, marked as the start date of the new international route.
It is not clear yet which Indian city IndiGo plans to connect with Heathrow and the route is still subject to regulatory approval.
“Today, we are delighted to announce our next strides in international markets, especially our daily, direct flights to London Heathrow. Looking ahead, we are hopeful to continue winning hearts and accolades in India as well as globally, as we expand our operations across the globe, one airport at a time,” said Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo on August 4, 2025.
IndiGo will receive five additional Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in the current financial year under its damp-lease arrangement with Norse Atlantic Airways.

Additionally, IndiGo announced that starting from August 9, 2025, it will offer IndiGoStretch on flights connecting Singapore to Delhi and Mumbai using the airline’s two-class Airbus A321 aircraft.
The airline will also introduce IndiGoStretch on flights between Delhi and Dubai from August 30, 2025, and flights between Mumbai and Dubai starting September 3, 2025.
“As we celebrate IndiGo’s 19th anniversary, we are immensely proud of the journey we have had so far and equally excited about the way ahead. The love and support of millions of our customers, coupled with the shared passion and drive of more than 66,000 IndiGo employees, has fueled our flight towards new heights and across new frontiers,” added Elbers.
IndiGo’s first new long-haul European services were from Mumbai to Manchester in the UK and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
