Korean Air unveils three new lounges at its Seoul-Incheon base
On August 14, 2025, Korean Air announced the completion of the first phase of its lounge renewal project at its main hub, Incheon International Airport (ICN), located just west of Seoul.
This project stage includes a full redesign of the Miller Club Lounge and the addition of two additional Prestige Garden Lounges, labelled “East” and “West”, one at each end of Incheon’s C-shaped T2 Terminal.
These three lounges, which will open to the public on August 18, 2025, are part of a more ambitious project that will see another three lounges being completed in 2026 and aligns with Incheon’s US$3.5 billion thorough redevelopment, the so-called “Phase 4 Expansion Project”.
The additional openings planned for 2026 include the revamped First Class, Prestige East (Left) and Prestige West lounges, which are located in the central section of the terminal.
Once its lounge expansion project is complete, Korean Air will have more than doubled its lounge space, from 5,105 to 12,270 square meters, and expanded its lounge capacity from 898 to 1,566 seats.
The new lounges have been designed with hotel-style lobbies and separate areas for dining, relaxation, business meetings and wellness activities.
The culinary experience will be enhanced by “Live Stations,” where chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon will cook on the spot for the guests. There will also be a curated buffet offering Korean and Western specialties, as well as a bakery and a salad bar. The Miller Club Lounge will also have its own in-house barista.
These lounges are also fitted with shower facilities and private powder rooms among other amenities.
When it comes to the prevalent style, Korean Air sought advice from a non-disclosed, global design studio with extensive experience in the luxury hospitality industry. The resulting design combines the color palette of Korean Air’s new premium cabins (gold, charcoal, black, and ivory) with a setting that evokes traditional Korean architecture combined with modern elements and materials.
One of the drivers of this investment is the upcoming full integration of Asiana Airlines, Korea’s second largest airline, into Korean Air, following the acquisition of the former by the latter. The merger of the two airlines was formally completed in December 2024, but the two carriers have since continued to operate separately under their respective brands.
Korean Air is in the midst of a major investment program that aims to redefine its brand and value proposition.
At an event in March 2025, the Korean flag carrier unveiled its new livery as well as a number of new products and services, such as redesigned cabin interiors, the introduction of a new Premium Economy class and state-of-the art lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and at the future New Terminal One at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The post Korean Air unveils three new lounges at its Seoul-Incheon base appeared first on AeroTime.
