Last Bombardier Global 7500 departs Downsview as facility closes for final time
The last Bombardier Global 7500 private jet has departed from the company’s Toronto Downsview facility bringing the final curtain down on a site with a rich aviation history.
Bombardier confirmed in a statement to AeroTime that the last Global 7500, and indeed the last aircraft, departed the airfield in Canada on March 23, 2024.
According to flightradar.com, the Global 7500, registered C-GYIN, flew for just over two hours before landing at Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (YUL) shortly before 20:45 local time.
Both the Global 5500/6500 and Global 7500 programs are in full production at the new site at Pearson Airport (YYZ).

“Our new facility in Mississauga is a 750,000 square-foot facility, located at the heart of aviation in the Greater Toronto Airports (GTA), and is the ideal place for Bombardier to continue to be a key driver in the local aerospace economy,” Bombardier said.
On May 1, 2024, at Bombardier’s 2024 Investor Day, the company will proceed with the official inauguration of its Aircraft Assembly Centre at Pearson Airport, marking the official transition from its Downsview facility.
The Downsview plant was built in the 1960s and became part of Bombardier when the company took over de Havilland in 1992.
Bombardier said that the new facility for final assembly of Global aircraft will “exemplify Bombardier’s commitment to sustainability”.
Environmentally responsible features will reduce energy consumption by almost 60% and will lower greenhouse gas emissions by more than half.
