LATAM to introduce new long-haul Premium Economy product
LATAM announced on August 5, 2025, the launch of a new Premium Economy product for its long-haul fleet.
The new cabin, called “Premium Comfort”, will be fitted on the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft and will be available to passengers from 2027.
The Latin American carrier is planning to invest US$100 million in this new product, which will fill the market gap between Business and Economy class.
LATAM is yet to disclose the specific details about this new offering, only announcing that it will feature seats with more space and recline than the standard economy class.
Passengers on Premium Comfort will also be able to enjoy an upgraded onboard culinary experience as well as the inflight entertainment system through 16” 4k seatback screens. The seats will also be fitted with fast-charging USB-C and in-seat power outlets for their personal devices.
The airline does offer a product called “Premium Economy”, although this is only available only on its narrowbody fleet, which operates within South America.
LATAM also sells LATAM+ seats on both its narrowbody and widebody fleets, although these are just more spacious seats, rather than an entirely different service class.
LATAM is pitching its new cabin as the first fully-fledged long-haul Premium Economy product to be introduced by a Latin American carrier.
