Lufthansa and Eurowings among four airlines to back Europe with message on A320s
In a move to signal Lufthansa Group’s support of Europe, a single Airbus A320 aircraft operated by Lufthansa, Eurowings, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines will feature the words “Yes to Europe” during the run up to the 2024 EU elections.
The four Airbus A320 planes with the new wording will begin flying out this week and then on May 13, 2024, the group of planes will come together at Brussels Airport (BRU).
A320s flown by Lufthansa and Eurowings will be first to roll out this week followed by the Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines aircraft next week.
“A message at an altitude of over ten kilometers and spread across the entire continent! With the clear statement ‘Yes to Europe’,” Lufthansa Group said in a statement on April 22, 2024.
Lufthansa Group said the new messages were part of a group initiative for the European elections for “Taking a stand – strengthening democracy”.
As well as the new “Yes to Europe” statement the four Airbus A320 will also feature the European star wreath.
Before the 2019 EU elections, Lufthansa also showed its support for Europe with a branded aircraft.
One of the airlines’ Airbus A320s had the slogan “SayYesToEurope” in large letters across its fuselage in place of the usual Lufthansa writing.
