Luxair expands network with 9 additional destinations for summer 2026
On July 15, 2025, Luxair, the flag carrier of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, announced a major route expansion for the 2026 summer season.
The Luxembourgish airline will launch up to eight nine routes, most of which have an unmistakable leisure orientation.
Luxair will be connecting Luxembourg (LUX) to Girona (GRO), Edinburgh (EDI), Helsinki (HEL), Tunis (TUN), Alicante (ALC), Bilbao (BIO), Zakynthos (ZTH) and Patras-Araxos (PTH), in Greece, as well as to Porto Santo (PXO), a small Portuguese island located next to Madeira, in the Atlantic.
The new routes will start between the end of March and the beginning of July 2026 and will be operated twice weekly, except for the Greek and Portuguese destinations, which will be serviced only once a week.
Luxair is likely to deploy a mix of Boeing 737s and DeHavilland Canada DHC-8 Q400 turboprops on these routes.
According to data from ch-aviation, as of June 2025, Luxair has a fleet of 21 active aircraft, consisting of 10 B737s (of which four are –700s, another four are –800s and two are of the MAX 8 version), and 11 DHC-8 Q400s.
Luxair also has six Embraer E195 E2s on order, the first of which is expected to arrive in the first half of 2026, meaning that these aircraft could also potentially be used on these services. The post Luxair expands network with 9 additional destinations for summer 2026 appeared first on AeroTime.
