This is a joint project by Air Force Research Laboratory and the Air Force Special Operations Command to demonstrate the delivery of a large volume of air-launched weapons.
The weapons were stacked onto Combat Expendable Platforms (CEP) and three of them were carrying the new Cargo Launch Expendable Air Vehicles with Extended Range (CLEAVER). The service describe it as a long-range, high precision weapon. Future tests will involve glide and powered flights of the CLEAVER.
