Norse Atlantic Airways appoints a new CEO, replacing founder
Long-haul low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways announced a change at the top on November 28, 2025.
The board of directors of the Norwegian carrier has appointed Eivind Roald as the firm’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Bjørn Tore Larsen, the airline’s founder.
The newly appointed CEO has extensive experience in the technology and airline industry, having held senior management positions in companies such as Accenture, Hewlett-Packard and Norwegian tech investment firm QNTM.
Roald was also Chief Commercial Officer and later Executive Vice President & Managing Director for Growth at Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) between 2012 and 2017. This was a key period for the pan-Nordic carrier, during which it underwent a successful commercial and financial turnaround.
Corporate turnarounds are also the specialty of the latest company Roald has managed prior to joining Norse Atlantic. Since 2024, the Norwegian executive has been CEO of CRST Advisory, a firm which deploys big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to dynamize its customers’ businesses.

Following several years of heavy financial losses, since 2024 Norse Atlantic Airways has reorganized its route network, driving up its load factors and profitability by focusing on fewer core markets. Additionally, it has entered the ACMI market.
In this regard, its partnership with fast-growing Indian low-cost carrier Indigo has played a key role. The Norwegian airline has leased half of its 12-strong B787 fleet to IndiGo, which has used the additional jets to accelerate its expansion in the European market.
Outgoing CEO Bjørn Tore Larsen, who co-founded Norse Atlantic Airways in 2021, will continue to be linked to the firm as Chairman of the Board.
