La U.S. Navy dismetterà la USS Bonhomme Richard

Dopo attente valutazioni la Marina degli Stati Uniti dismetterà la USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), una nave anfibia della classe Wasp, a causa degli ingenti danni subiti per l’incendio del luglio scorso.

Il segretario della Marina, Kenneth J. Braithwaite, ha voluto precisare che “non si è arrivati a questa decisione con leggerezza ma a seguito di un’ampia valutazione in cui sono state prese in considerazione varie linee d’azione, che ci hanno portato alla conclusione che è economicamente svantaggioso ripararla”.
