Impostato il 22 maggio 1887 dall’ammiraglio Ferdinando Acton e completamente riammodernato nel 1958, il ponte San Francesco di Paola, meglio noto come “ponte girevole” di Taranto, è oggi interessato da importanti lavori di rinnovamento, indagini e monitoraggi sperimentali ad opera della Marina Militare, attività finalizzate al mantenimento della sua capacità operativa e al conseguente supporto alla viabilità urbana.
