Piper’s fastest ever single-engine aircraft ‘M700 FURY’ earns FAA certification
Piper Aircraft’s fastest ever single-engine aircraft ‘M700 FURY’ has gained type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The news confirmed on March 4, 2024, comes just weeks after Piper announced that the new aircraft was soon to be unleashed on the world.
“We are thrilled to announce the U.S. certification of the Piper M700 FURY by the FAA just a month after its announcement. And there’s more to come. The FURY is just the first step in a new generation of our M-Class product line, so watch this space, as Piper’s M-Class will be expanding both above and below what we currently offer today,” John Calcagno, President & CEO of Piper Aircraft, said.
The planemaker confirmed that customer deliveries will begin immediately.
The M700 FURY international validations for Canada (TCCA), Europe (EASA), the UK (CAA) and Brazil (ANAC) are on track to be completed in the second half of 2024, with customer deliveries in those regions before the end of the year.
Built with 700 shaft horsepower, the new member of the M-Class family is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 engine, and capable of reaching a cruise speed of 301 ktas with a max range of 1,149 nm/1,849 km.
Only the Piper Cheyenne 400LS turbine twin is faster than the new M700 FURY.
Part of the PA46 line, Piper says the new M700 FURY “outperforms all previous models and several competitive aircraft in performance, operational cost efficiencies, and overall value”.
