Qantas refreshes domestic menu with artisan toasties, Aussie classics
Qantas has announced that it is to refresh the inflight menus on all of its domestic flights.
According to the Australian flag carrier, almost 70 new and updated items will be offered at six different meal times throughout the day. The rollout will start this month, in both the Business and Economy cabins.
Frequent fliers have also been kept in mind, as the airline has set up the menu to be changed every six weeks.According to Catriona Larritt, Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer, the new menu was curated to showcase Australian food and producers.
“Each year, we proudly serve our customers more than 20 million menu items on board and we’re excited to introduce a refreshed offering featuring even more delicious options on every flight,” Larritt said.
Larritt added that Qantas is aware that its customers value variety and quality when flying, so the company has “thoughtfully” curated the menu to highlight the finest Australian flavors, while also supporting local businesses.
Putting the spotlight on local and indigenous suppliers
The menu features items from some well-known Australian suppliers, such as beef and mushroom pies from Simmone Logue in Sydney, artisan toasties from The Handmade Food Co. in Queensland, and desserts from Manna from Heaven in Sydney.Qantas is also working with more First Nations businesses.
