QinetiQ wins €284 million aerial training contract with German Armed Forces
The German Armed Forces Procurement Office has awarded QinetiQ Group an Aerial Training Services (ATS) contract.
The contract, covering services for the German Air Force, Army, Navy and Special Forces, is valued at €284 million, and is to span ten years with an option for a two-year extension. This marks the largest and longest award for QinetiQ’s Global Threat Representation business.
“In the current heightened threat environment, the award of the Aerial Training Services contract demonstrates QinetiQ’s commitment to ensuring the German Armed Forces are always operationally ready for their missions,” said Steve Wadey, Group Chief Executive Officer of QinetiQ. “The contract will form a crucial part of our Global Threat Representation offering across all domains. We are very proud of our highly skilled employees who will deliver thousands of flight hours of training per year for our customer.”
Under the ATS contract, QinetiQ will deliver a wide array of specialized services, including Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training, Red Air training, close air support, maritime air operations, ground control intercept training, air traffic control training, and target towing for ground-based air defense systems. These services will be provided by QinetiQ’s fleet of eleven PC-9 and four PC-12 aircraft.
