SAS Scandinavian planning significant network expansion for summer 2026

SAS Scandinavia Airlines has released details of an expanded program of flights for summer 2026. The schedule will include nine new routes, six new destinations, and a significant boost in connectivity across Europe, North America, and Asia.

The northern summer of 2026 will mark a significant uptick in flights for the carrier, with a 20% increase in seat capacity from Copenhagen, which will lead to 50% more connecting opportunities.

“With more destinations than in any previous summer program, the schedule combines high-frequency business routes with leisure travel options, giving travelers greater flexibility, improved access, and smoother connections than ever before,” said an airline statement.  

“The expansion reinforces Copenhagen’s role as Scandinavia’s global hub and reflects SAS’s long-term commitment to connecting Scandinavia and the world,” it added.  

The new routes from the airline’s hub at Copenhagen Airport will include flights to destinations such as Mumbai, Istanbul, Riga, Luxembourg, Bordeaux, Marseille, Visby, and Madrid. Oslo will also see a new service between the Norwegian capital and Hamburg.

#image_titleIn addition, several routes that previously operated only during peak summer months will now run for the full season, including Copenhagen to Ålesund, Copenhagen to Edinburgh, and Copenhagen to Thessaloniki.  

Alongside these increases, SAS is also increasing frequency on more than 30 existing routes. According to the company, Copenhagen alone will see more departures on over 25 routes, including Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Krakow, Prague, Seoul, Tallinn, and Tokyo. Stockholm gains enhanced services to Brussels, Dublin, Paris, and Vaasa, while Oslo benefits from additional flights to Brussels, Dublin, and Reykjavik.
