Satair, Cebu Pacific sign long-term IMS agreement for material services
Satair, a subsidiary of Airbus, announced that it has forged a strategic alliance with Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific at the 2025 MRO Asia Pacific event hosted by Aviation Week.
The long-term partnership encompasses Satair’s Integrated Material Services (IMS) solution, which will provide complete expendable material management and supply chain oversight for Cebu Pacific’s entire operational fleet, which includes the Airbus A320 family aircraft and the widebody A330 series.
Under the agreement, Cebu Pacific will entrust its material supply chain operations to Satair’s expertise, specifically covering all expendable components and materials.
According to Satair, the arrangement includes rigorous performance metrics and clearly established service level agreements that ensure optimal material availability and operational efficiency.
The commitment represents a significant strategic partnership between these two industry leaders, designed to guarantee seamless material availability while simultaneously achieving substantial reductions in Cebu Pacific’s overall operational expenditures and capital investment requirements.
Satair said that its IMS solution consists of a meticulously tailored and customized service framework that has been developed through extensive collaboration and partnership with Cebu Pacific’s operational teams.
The service includes a dedicated Satair team working directly at Cebu Pacific’s facilities to collaborate closely with the airline’s daily operations and maintenance activities.
Shevantha Weerasekera, Vice President of Engineering and Fleet Management, Cebu Pacific, said: “As we grow beyond our 100 aircraft at Cebu Pacific, we are delighted to embark upon this strategic partnership with Satair. We are confident the IMS solution will have a positive impact on operational efficiency while reducing our total cost of material supply chain, so that we can focus on flying every Juan.”
“We are extremely pleased to conclude this IMS agreement with Cebu Pacific, which reflects the strong partnership we are building together. More than just managing materials, this collaboration is about giving their teams the confidence and flexibility to focus on what matters most – keeping their operations running smoothly,” said Tommy Hughes, Chief Commercial Officer of Satair.
