“With over two million Syrians living and working in the Kingdom, the restoration of air links provides great relief and will support the economic redevelopment of Syria as the country embarks on rebuilding its infrastructure attracting much-needed investment from the international community,” Greenway added.
In an exclusive Executive Spotlight interview with AeroTime in May 2025, Greenway said that US President Trump’s visit to the Middle East paved the way to something positive in terms of travel in the region, particularly to Syria.
Greenway told AeroTime: “Interestingly, what happened for us from President Trump’s visit was something that no one expected, [and that] was the normalization of a relationship with Syria. So sanctions were lifted and so forth.”
