SkyWest orders up to 110 Embraer E175s at Paris Air Show, 16 to fly for Delta
SkyWest Airlines has struck a deal with Embraer at the Paris Air Show to purchase up to 110 Embraer E175s, with 16 already allocated to operate for Delta Air Lines.
Embraer and SkyWest announced on June 18, 2025, that the airline would purchase 60 aircraft with purchase rights on 50 extra planes in the future.
SkyWest confirmed that 16 new E175 aircraft would operate under a multi-year contract for Delta Air Lines with deliveries set to being in 2027.
The planes are expected to replace 11 CRJ900s and five CRJ700s currently under contract with Delta.
SkyWest also secured firm delivery positions with Embraer for 44 additional E175s from 2028 to 2032.
AeroTime“We’re pleased to strengthen our Delta partnership and to continue to grow our E175 fleet. This aircraft order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy, enhance our dual-class footprint, and continue to lead the industry in delivering an exceptional product for Delta and each of our flying partners,” said Chip Childs, President and CEO of SkyWest.
The firm order for 60 E175s has been valued by Embraer at $3.6 billion.
“As the largest E175 owner and operator worldwide, we’re pleased to continue growing our E175 fleet and enhance our dual-class footprint. This order enables us to advance our long-term fleet strategy and to continue to deliver the premier regional product in the industry,” added Childs.
SkyWest intends to take delivery of the 44 additional E175s, subject to SkyWest entering into flying agreements with one of its major airline partners in respect of such aircraft.
SkyWest provides regional operations in the US for Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines.
The airline said the options on 50 additional aircraft would provide it with “ongoing fleet flexibility over the next decade”.
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with SkyWest Airlines with this mega order. The E175 is the cornerstone of regional aviation in North America, and this order underscores SkyWest’s confidence in our aircraft’s performance, reliability, and passenger comfort. We look forward to supporting SkyWest’s growth and success in the years to come,” said Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
