Special Pan Am private charter takes off on special transatlantic journey
The golden age of travel may be over, but for a $60,000 ticket, a lucky few were able to relieve the glamour of those days onboard a special chartered flight.
Beyond Capricorn, a tour agency that specializes in reliving the luxury and glamour of travel’s golden age, is offering travelers the chance to fly around the world, Pan Am style.
Its first transatlantic flight on board an all-business class Pan Am Boeing B757-200 took off on June 16, 2025. The flight departed New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and is currently on the following itinerary:
JFK – Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) – Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) – Marseilles Provence Airport (MRS) – London-Heathrow Airport (LHR)- Shannon Airport (SNN) – JFK

The flight is operated by Bartelings, a company specializing in worldwide private aircraft tours, and Criterion Travel, a US-based tour operator managing educational and affinity-based travel programs. The program, officially called Our Pan Am Journeys by Private Air, is offered under an official license from Pan American World Airways.
The company is also offering transpacific and circumnavigation flights yearly until 2027.
Its next tour, called “Pan Am Tracing the Transpacific”, is set to take off on April 11, 2026 with the following itinerary:
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) – Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) – Siem Reap International Airport (SAI) – Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) – Darwin Airport (DRW) – Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD)- Auckland Airport (AKL) – Fiji Nadi International Airport (NAN) – SFO.
Running for 20 days, the trip costs $94,495 for Double Occupancy and $103,995 for Single Occupancy.
