Taiwan’s China Airlines debuts Zootopia 2-themed livery on long-range Boeing 777
China Airlines is set to launch Taiwan’s first-ever Disney-themed aircraft, featuring designs from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming animated movie Zootopia 2.
The new Zootopia 2-themed design will be showcased on China Airlines’ long-range Boeing 777 aircraft, which is scheduled to make its debut on November 19, 2025, with flight CI006 from Taipei to Los Angeles.
In a statement released on October 28, 2025, the airline said that the aircraft’s exterior will feature characters such as Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, along with new characters Gary De’Snake and Nibbles Maplestick, and the beloved sloth, Flash.
The airline said the design will offer travelers the chance to “experience Disney in the clouds” and immerse passengers in a fun and lively atmosphere from check-in to cabin services.
The special aircraft will fly on routes linking Taipei, Taoyuan, with Los Angeles, Ontario, Bangkok, Tokyo, Narita, and Osaka.
“Passengers are welcome to bring the whole family and embark on a journey to explore world cities,” the airline said.
The airline has a history of producing eye-catching livery designs for its aircraft. In September 2022, China Airlines unveiled its “Pikachu Jet CI”, an Airbus A321neo decorated with Pokémon characters as part of its “Pokémon Air Adventures” campaign.
Alongside its creative liveries, China Airlines is also upgrading its fleet. In May 2025, the airline placed a firm order for 10 Boeing 777-9s and four 777-8 freighters, becoming the latest customer for Boeing’s 777X program. The deal with Boeing included an option for an additional five 777-9s and four 777-8 freighters.
