Thai AirAsia to launch nonstop route to Kathmandu in October 2024 

Thai AirAsia will launch a new nonstop service connecting Bangkok, Thailand, to Kathmandu, Nepal. 

The new route will operate four times a week starting from October 2, 2024, and will mark the low-cost carrier’s entrance to the Nepalese market. 

The service will link Bangkok Don Mueang Airport (DMK) and Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). 

“AirAsia is always looking to expand its network, and Nepal is one of the most popular not only among Thai travelers but also visitors from across the globe,” Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said in a press release. “This is a region with tremendous growth potential for tourism, trade and business purposes. The latest route will be of benefit to both regions.” 

With the addition of Kathmandu, AirAsia will now operate 16 routes to South Asia, flying to Jaipur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Kochi, Gaya, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad, Dhaka, Colombo, and the Maldives, offering a total 87 flights a week.  

On August 9, 2024, Indonesia AirAsia announced its latest route, with direct flights from Bali, Indonesia, to Hong Kong. The first flight will take off on October 1, 2024, with a once-a-day daily frequency thereafter.
