Thales to buy RTX stake in NATO air command and control joint venture
Thales is set to acquire RTX’s stake in Thales Raytheon Systems Air and Missile Defense Command and Control SAS (TRS AMDC2), a joint venture that underpins NATO’s critical air-defense capabilities.
TRS AMDC2 develops and maintains NATO’s Air Command and Control System (ACCS), an integrated command framework launched in 1999 to coordinate NATO air operations within and beyond the Euro-Atlantic region.
Taking full ownership aligns with Thales’ strategy to consolidate its role as a primary European provider of NATO air command-and-control systems, as the Alliance modernizes its capabilities amid increased geopolitical tensions.
RTX, formerly Raytheon Technologies, has steadily streamlined its portfolio post-merger, shedding non-core assets to focus on missiles, radars, and propulsion systems.
