Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet receives first 2 of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets
Turkish Airlines low-cost subsidiary carrier AJet has received the first two of 12 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft from Irish lessor CDB Aviation.
CDB Aviation, which is owned by China Development Bank Financial Leasing, said on August 14, 2025, that the 737-8s were delivered to its existing customer Turkish Airlines from its existing orderbook with Boeing.
The aircraft are expected to join AJet through 2025 and 2026 after Turkish Airlines and CBD Aviation secured the deal in 2023.
“We are very pleased to further advance the ongoing strong collaboration with our valued customer, Turkish Airlines,” said Jie Chen, CDB Aviation’s CEO. “This significant stream of MAX 8 deliveries will contribute toward the airline’s stated goal for Ajet to become an important part of the low-cost aviation industry on a global scale.”
According to ch-aviation, the two MAX 8s, registered TC-OHB and TC-OHA were ordered in November 2017 and were delivered on August 7 and 11, 2025. The jets are currently in storage at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW).
In July 2025, Ajet also signed a lease agreement with SMBC Aviation Capital for five Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The Turkish Airlines subsidiary carrier began operating in 2024 after AnadoluJet was rebranded. The airline currently operates five A320-200s, four A321neos and 14 737-800s.
