United announces new flights to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Adelaide and Manila
United Airlines is expanding its reach into the Asia-Pacific region with the announcement of new flights to Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and the Philippines.
The airline said that new flights will be scheduled to offer easier connections for travelers from across North America to help meet the growing demand for travel to the following destinations.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)
Starting October 26, 2025, United will offer daily flights to the Thai capital, making it the only US carrier to do so.
The flights are scheduled to be flown by the airline’s fleet of Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners.

From December 11, 2025, United will be the only carrier to connect non-stop direct services between the US and Adelaide in South Australia.
The carrier will offer seasonal direct flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Adelaide Airport three times a week on United’s fleet of Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners.
Along with its partnership with Virgin Australia, the new Adelaide route will make United the only airline to offer nonstop service between the US and four major cities in Australia. The other three cities are Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD), Melbourne Airport (MEL), and Brisbane Airport (BNE).
Ho Chi Minh’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN)
From October 11, 2025, United Airlines will fly to Ho Chi Minh City daily, using its fleet of B787-9 Dreamliners.
Vietnamese media outlet Nhan Dan reported that in 2024, approximately 780,000 US visitors arrived in Vietnam, making them the second top tourists in the country, next to Taiwanese tourists.
Manila International Airport (MNL)
United will also bolster its flights to the Philippines, adding a second flight between San Francisco International Airport and Manila. This will give airline customers the flexibility and choice to depart in the morning or evening.
A 2022 census showed that there are nearly 4.5 million Filipino-Americans in the United States. States with the most population of Filipino-Americans include California, Hawaii, Illinois, Texas, Florida, Nevada, and the New York metropolitan area.
Tourism-wise, Americans ranked second in population of visitors in the Philippines in 2024, numbering 1,076,663.
