Wizz Air launches first five nonstop routes to Spain from London
Wizz has announced the addition of five new Spanish routes, linking London-Luton (LTN) to Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD), Bilbao (BIO), Valencia (VLC) and Seville (SVQ).
The new services, which were announced on July 23, 2025, target major Spanish cities and will start on March 29, 2026, coinciding with the beginning of the summer season.
The pan-European ultra low-cost airline will fly up to 10 times per week to Barcelona, daily to Madrid-Barajas, five times per week to Bilbao and Valencia, and four times weekly to Seville.
Wizz Air already has a considerable presence in the Spanish market, which it serves mostly from its Eastern European bases. According to data from the Spanish Ministry of Transportation, through both its Maltese and Hungarian subsidiaries, Wizz Air carried more than 7.2 million passengers to and from Spanish airports in 2024.
The newly announced routes, however, will be the first to be operated by Wizz Air from its UK base.
The announcement follows Wizz Air’s decision to abandon its Abu Dhabi base and redeploy its capacity to Europe.
On July 19, 2025, Wizz Air also announced its return to Warsaw-Modlin (WMI) after an absence of 13 years. The airline will base two A321 aircraft at the Polish airport, from where, starting in December 2025, it will roll out service to 11 destinations in eight different European countries.
The list of Wizz Air’s new Modlin routes includes Barcelona (BCN), Athens (ATH), Barcelona, Bergen (BGO), Bergamo (BGY), Chisinau (RMO), Paphos (PFO), Malta (MLA), Sofia (SOF), Brindisi (BDS), Palermo (PMO), Alghero (AHO).
