Teen fleeing police badly damages PlaneSense PC-12 in airport crash
A 17-year-old fleeing police at high speed crashed through a perimeter fence at Portsmouth International Airport (PSM) in New Hampshire before slamming into a parked PlaneSense Pilatus PC-12 and badly damaging the aircraft.
The incident occurred at around 20:09 local time on August 29, 2026, after a New Hampshire State Police trooper attempted to stop a black 2008 Ford Mustang on Durham Street in Portsmouth. Police were searching for a vehicle connected with crimes reported in other jurisdictions.
Police said the driver fled after seeing the trooper and drove onto airport property without the vehicle’s headlights on. The Mustang struck a Kubota ground-support tractor and then the parked PC-12 before coming to a stop.
The PC-12 was at PlaneSense’s national headquarters awaiting routine maintenance at the time of the crash. The fractional aircraft operator confirmed that the airplane sustained significant damage but said no employees were injured and its flight operations were not affected.
Photos taken after the crash show extensive damage to the PC-12, which suffered a severed left wing and collapsed landing gear. The Mustang was also badly damaged in the crash.
