Low cost carrier Vietjet launches first flight between Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur
Vietnamese low-cost carrier Vietjet has launched its first flight connecting Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi with Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
The maiden flight, VJ 905, departed Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) at 07:20 local time on November 28, 2024. The Airbus A320 reached Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at 11:20 local time, after a flight time of just under three hours.
The Hanoi – Kuala Lumpur route will have a schedule of seven return flights per week, Vietjet will thereby double the number of flights between Vietnam and Malaysia to 14 return flights per week, meeting the increasing travel demand between the two countries.
To celebrate the new route, the carrier has launched a sale on its ‘Green Friday’ days, where international flights can be booked for VND 0.00 on the Vietjet website and mobile app until December 31, 2024.
Vietjet’s Green Friday was launched in November 2024 with the mission to encourage passengers to enjoy eco-friendly flights while raising awareness of the need to protect the planet. It also highlights Vietjet’s pioneer in sustainable development and its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, in line with its ESG goals.
