Airbus profits surge 126% thanks to strong deliveries in second quarter
Airbus profits surged by 126% in the three months leading to June 30, 2026, thanks to strong aircraft deliveries in the second quarter, according to CEO Guillaume Faury.
On July 29, 2026, Airbus published its half year results, but it was the second quarter financial numbers that really stood out among the data.
Net income increased from $842 million (€732 million) to $1.66 billion (€1.65 billion) in Q2 2026 while revenue rose 28% over the same period.
Between April and June 2026, Airbus delivered 237 commercial aircraft to customers while between January and March 2026, just 114 were delivered. The total for 2026 first half stands at 351.
Net income for the first half of 2026 rose 47% from $1.75 billion (€1.525 billion) in 2025 to $2.58 billion (€2.243 billion) this year.

“Our good H1 results mainly reflect the higher level of commercial aircraft deliveries and strong performance in Defense and Space, against the backdrop of a complex and fast-changing environment,” Faury said. “We are ramping up across all businesses to meet the growing demand for our civil and military solutions. Our focus on steady execution is paying off, as demonstrated by strong deliveries in Q2. This fuels our confidence in our future performance, as reflected in the recently-communicated mid-term outlook.”
The company said its ambition to deliver around 870 commercial aircraft in 2026 remains the same.
While EBIT adjusted currently stands at $3.1 billion (€2.7 billion), Airbus’ outlook is $8.6 billion (€7.5 billion) by year end.
In the first six months of 2026, gross commercial aircraft orders totaled 886 against 494 last year. The order backlog amounted to 9,222 commercial aircraft at the end of June 2026.
The A220 ramp-up is ongoing and Airbus continues to target a monthly production rate of 13 aircraft in 2028.

The European manufacturer continues to target a rate of five per month for the A330 program in 2029 and a rate of 12 per month for the A350 program in 2028.
Revenues at Airbus Defense and Space increased 9% year-on-year to $7.2 billion (€ 6.3 billion) and Airbus Helicopters’ remained the same at around $4.2 billion (€3.68 billion).
