Flexjet becomes official executive aviation partner of Formula 1
Executive aviation operator Flexjet announced on July 1, 2026, that it has become the official private aviation supplier to Formula 1, the renowned car racing competition.
The multi-year deal was announced just ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, which will take place in Silverstone, England, July 3-5, 2026.
Under the terms of the deal, F1 teams and executives as well as VIPs connected to the racing competition will have access to Flexjet’s aircraft.
“Team executives and drivers will be amongst those flying with Flexjet as guests of F1, in addition to a number who already flew with us, prior to this partnership.” explained a Flexjet spokesperson when contacted by AeroTime.
This same Flexjet source added that the deal will run until the end of 2028 and it includes giving Formula 1 a designated amount of access to the Flexjet fleet, for example to fly between the different races and the teams’ HQs. The actual destinations and routes that these aircraft will be deployed on, will be based on the guests specific requirements.
“This is a natural alignment of two worlds in which both luxury aircraft and fast cars require absolute precision and flawless coordination to achieve success.” said Flexjet Chairman, Kenn Ricci.
In a press release announcing the deal, Flexjet highlighted that its aircraft will be partly powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The private jet firm also referred to its standing partnership with luxury giant LVMH, which invested $800 million in Flexjet in July 2025, suggesting it consolidates its role as a provider of ultra-high-end experiences.
Formula 1 has long had a close relationship with executive aviation, with several of the competing teams also having an official private jet carrier. Scuderia Ferrari, for example, has a long-standing relationship with Vista and Flexjet’s most direct competitor, Netjets, serves the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport team, and until recently, German private aviation operator FAI Aviation flew the McLaren team.
It is also worth noting that Formula 1 also has an airline partner, Qatar Airways.
Flexjet has been expanding its fleet, which currently counts over 340 jets, in light of a recent FT feature described as an AI and Crypto-assets driven demand boom in demand for private aviation.
In February 2025, Flexjet announced a large $7 billion order for 182 Embraer Phenom 300E, Praetor 500 and 600 jets and it followed up in September of the same year with a pre-order for 300 Phantom 3500 jets, a revolutionary clean-sheet aircraft being developed by Otto Aerospace.
