Greybird Aviation Group Accelerates European Expansion with Order for 13 New Tecnam Aircraft at AERO 2026
The leading European flight academy standardizes its modern fleet with the purchase of 10 P-Mentor and 3 P2006T NG aircraft to support its growing international cadet programs.
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – April 24, 2026 – Live from the AERO Friedrichshafen exhibition, the momentum for Tecnam continues as Greybird Aviation Group officially signed a major fleet expansion agreement. To support its rapidly growing operations across Europe, the premier flight academy has ordered thirteen (13) new aircraft, comprising ten (10) Tecnam P-Mentor single-engine trainers and three (3) Tecnam P2006T NG twin-engine aircraft.
Greybird Aviation Group is renowned for its “uniform fleet” philosophy. By ensuring that cadets train on state-of-the-art aircraft with identical cockpit layouts and Garmin glass avionics from their very first flight to their final multi-engine checkride, Greybird drastically reduces transition times and enhances training safety. This new acquisition perfectly aligns with that mission, integrating the industry’s most advanced and sustainable training platforms into their European bases.
The addition of the P-Mentor and P2006T NG creates the ultimate modern training synergy for Greybird’s students:
- 10 x Tecnam P-Mentor: Certified to the latest EASA CS-23 Amendment 6 safety standards, the P-Mentor is the ultimate two-seat trainer. Powered by the Rotax 912iSc engine and featuring a Garmin G3X glass cockpit, it allows Greybird to conduct both VFR and IFR training with the lowest fuel consumption and emissions in its class.
- 3 x Tecnam P2006T NG: The “Next Generation” of the world’s most cost-efficient twin-engine aircraft provides a seamless transition for cadets. It mirrors the avionics logic learned in the P-Mentor, allowing students to focus purely on mastering multi-engine aerodynamics and complex commercial procedures.
“At Greybird, our core philosophy is to provide our cadets with the most modern, uniform, and airline-relevant training environment possible,” said Søren Møller, Founder and CTO at Greybird Aviation Group. “The Tecnam P-Mentor and P2006T NG are the perfect fit for this vision. This 13-aircraft order allows us to sustainably scale our operations across our European bases while ensuring our students are flying the absolute best glass-cockpit aircraft on the market today.”
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s Chief Sales Officer, added: “Greybird has built a reputation for innovation and excellence in flight training. Their commitment to a standardized, high-tech fleet is exactly what modern airlines are looking for in graduating cadets. We are extremely proud to secure this order at AERO 2026 and to provide Greybird with a highly efficient, sustainable fleet that will power their European expansion for years to come.”
