Qatar Airways signs sale and leaseback agreement for three Airbus A350-1000s
Qatar Airways has signed a purchase and leaseback agreement with Singapore’s BOC Aviation for three Airbus A350-1000 widebody aircraft.
On June 30, 2026, BOC Aviation said the Airbus A350-1000 were signed on long-term operating leases and covered aircraft that have already been delivered to Qatar Airways.
“We are pleased to be financing our first A350-1000 aircraft for Qatar and continuing a partnership that has been built over many years and continues to thrive across all market conditions,” said Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, BOC Aviation.
Townend added: “We deliberately strengthened our liquidity position earlier this year with transactions of this quality in mind and we are delighted to deploy that capacity in support of one of our largest and most valued customers.”
BOC Aviation and Qatar Airways’ relationship dates back to 1999 and has included multiple sale and leaseback agreements over the years.
In 2016, the pair signed a purchase-and-leaseback deal for six new Airbus A350 twin-aisle aircraft, and in 2019, there was an agreement for three more A350s.
Qatar Airways has previously also signed leases with Avolon, for the sale-and-leaseback of five Airbus A350-1000s.
According to ch-aviation data, Qatar Airways currently operates 28 Airbus A350-1000s and is awaiting delivery of 14 more.
