Riyadh Air and Red Sea Global ink strategic marketing partnership
Two of the most prominent emerging brands in Saudi Arabia under the aegis of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative, the new national carrier Riyadh Air and resort development firm Red Sea Global (RSG), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in their marketing efforts.
The agreement, which was signed at the new Red Sea International Airport (RSI) on August 28, 2025, by the CEOs of both companies, Tony Douglas of Riyadh Air, and John Pagano, of the Red Sea Global group.
Red Sea Global / Riyadh AirAs per the mutually agreed terms, both companies will support each other on brand and marketing activation campaigns that aim to position both companies as the prime choice for premium travelers traveling to the Kingdome of Saudi Arabia.
As part of this partnership, Riyadh Air passengers will have access to exclusive offers and packages at the high-end, regenerative resorts currently being developed by Red Sea Global on several islands off the coast of Western Saudi Arabia.
Although Riyadh Air has not yet confirmed its initial route network, this agreement, which refers explicitly to the airline facilitating international connectivity for Red Sea Global’s guests, makes it likely that it will include Red Sea International Airport (RSI).
While it opened to regular traffic in 2023 and already sees some service by Saudia, flydubai and flynas, Red Sea International Airport is still undergoing the latest stages of its development. In conversation with AeroTime earlier in 2025, the airport managers explained that, once completed, Red Sea International is expected to receive up to one million international passengers per year.
This airport, which is managed under contract by Ireland’s Dublin Airport Authority (daa) has been built from scratch in order to serve as the gateway to the multiple luxury resorts within the Red Sea Global area of activity. These include resorts managed directly by Red Sea Global and others under the umbrella of international luxury hospitality brands such as Six Senses, St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton.
Red Sea Global positions its resort offering as “regenerative tourism”, highlighting its investment in the restoration of environmental habitats in the area under its responsibility.
Both Riyadh Air and Red Sea Global have also pledged to expand their cooperation to other activities and services in the near future.
