TECNAM Delivers Third P2010 TDI to the Finnish Aviation Academy Live at AERO 2026
FINAA continues its major fleet modernization program with the handover of its newest state-of-the-art training aircraft during Europe’s premier general aviation show.
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany – April 24, 2026 – Live from the AERO Friedrichshafen exhibition, Tecnam celebrated another major milestone today as it officially handed over the third P2010 TDI to the Finnish Aviation Academy (FINAA). This special delivery marks the continued progression of a landmark ten-aircraft (10) fleet modernization contract awarded to Tecnam in 2025.
FINAA, owned by the Finnish government and headquartered in Pori, is the largest Approved Training Organization (ATO) in Finland, training 80 to 100 professional pilots each year. Following a rigorous public procurement process, the academy selected the Tecnam P2010 TDI to replace its legacy four-seat aircraft. The first deliveries of this transformative 10-aircraft fleet commenced right on schedule in March 2026, culminating in today’s ceremonial handover of the third airframe.
Advancing Training with the P2010 TDI The adoption of the Tecnam P2010 TDI reflects FINAA’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge pilot training with a strong emphasis on efficiency, technology, and sustainability. Powered by the highly efficient Continental CD-170 engine and an MT Propeller, and equipped with state-of-the-art Garmin avionics, the aircraft offers a unique combination of low emissions and remarkable fuel efficiency.
With its extended range and payload, the P2010 TDI enables comprehensive IFR training on a single-engine platform. This allows premier flight schools like FINAA to significantly reduce operational costs while enhancing mission flexibility.
“Taking delivery of our third P2010 TDI here at AERO Friedrichshafen is a fantastic moment for the Finnish Aviation Academy,” said Ari Tolonen, Managing Director and Accountable Manager of FINAA. “These new Tecnam aircraft are actively replacing our legacy four-seat fleet. We are already seeing the benefits of this cooperation in our daily operations, and the arrival of this latest aircraft is another huge step forward for our future and the quality of training we provide to our students.”
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam Chief Sales Officer, stated: “Handing over the third P2010 TDI to the Finnish Aviation Academy here at AERO Friedrichshafen is a proud moment for all of us at Tecnam. When FINAA trusted us with this landmark ten-aircraft order last year, it was a testament to the unmatched efficiency and capability of the P2010 TDI. Watching their modern, sustainable fleet grow today reinforces our commitment to supporting the next generation of professional pilots with the absolute best training platforms on the market.”
The Greenest Training Fleet Based on recent data and industry benchmarks, Tecnam offers the greenest training fleet in the world. Flight schools using Tecnam’s single and twin-engine fleet can save up to 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for each student who completes a Commercial Pilot Licence—a 60% reduction compared to a fleet using 100LL fuel across 155 flight hours, including 30 hours in a twin.
