British Airways unveils full summer 2026 timetable, airline returns to Dallas
On August 21, 2025, British Airways announced its intentions for summer 2026, with several routes seeing an increase in flight frequencies while another will enjoy the airline’s return after a short hiatus in services, brought about in part by the lack of spares for the carrier’s long-haul Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. Both the airline’s bases at London-Heathrow (LHR) and London-Gatwick (LGW) airports will see an upgrading of services, offering a greater number of flights to popular worldwide destinations.
Perhaps most interestingly, the airline has announced a return to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) in Texas, the mega-hub for Oneworld alliance partner American Airlines. In November, the UK carrier announced that it would pull out of Heathrow to DFW for the summer of 2025. The move to cut flights to DFW came as a result of British Airways and its close oneworld partner coordinating schedules and capacities for the 2025 northern summer season. With DFW being American Airlines’ largest hub, the carrier flew four times daily from Heathrow using Boeing 777-300ERs under the terms of the partner’s transatlantic joint venture. British Airways will return to serving DFW with a daily service from Heathrow from March 2026.
Another US route that will enjoy an upgrade of service will be Miami (MIA). Like Dallas, in November 2024, the airline announced that it would reduce flights between Heathrow and Miami from twice daily to just a single daily service. Once more, American Airlines stepped into the breach, picking up the dropped flight and operating it with its own equipment during the summer of 2025. However, for summer 2026, British Airways will return to operating a double-daily service on the route.
GCMap.comSpeaking in November 2024, a British Airways spokesperson confirmed that the adjustments in its frequencies to the US for summer 2025 were being made due to ongoing issues with Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines that power its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, which operates many of the carrier’s long-haul flights.
Elsewhere in the US, the airline has also increased its services from Heathrow to Las Vegas from 10 to 13 flights per week, from Heathrow Terminal 5. In terms of New York-JFK Airport, the airline plans to operate nine flights from Heathrow to New York, while an additional weekly service to Kingston, Jamaica, from London Gatwick has also been announced. British Airways will fly four flights per week for the summer 2026 season. British Airways is the Caribbean’s longest-serving UK airline.

Following the addition of flights between London-Gatwick Airport and Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, which resumed in November 2024 after a four-year hiatus, British Airways has announced that the route will see a frequency upgrade to year-round service, a step up from the winter-only service flown in winter 2025/26. The flights will all be operated by the company’s Gatwick-based Boeing 777-200ER fleet.
Starting in summer 2026, services to and from Bangkok will operate three times per week, and the airline will operate six weekly flights during the winter season of 2026/27, representing a significant increase in winter flights, and “reflecting the airline’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel to Southeast Asia.” Overall, the flag carrier is set to offer nearly 60,000 additional seats for customers looking to visit Bangkok in 2026, and with the airline’s recent expansion of its codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, it now offers customers convenient onward connections to destinations such as Phuket (also Thailand) and Phnom Penh (Cambodia).

British Airways has also announced that it will offer a daily service from Heathrow to Bahrain (BAH), more than doubling the frequency it flies to the country each week. Saudi Arabia also receives a boost, with Jeddah transitioning to five flights per week and Riyadh upgrading to 14 per week services, improving connectivity between Saudi Arabia and London. British Airways will also now fly to Doha 14 times per week, offering greater flexibility and convenience for travel to and from Qatar.
“We’re delighted to expand our long-haul network from London Heathrow and Gatwick next summer, adding more services to some of our most-loved destinations,” said British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff. “Whether customers are travelling for business, leisure, or visiting loved ones, we hope they take advantage of these additional flights, which offer greater choice and convenience, making it easier than ever to connect with their favourite destinations around the world.”

As the UK’s national flag carrier, British Airways serves more than 200 destinations across more than 65 countries, including routes with its partner airlines. The airline says it “proudly offers customers flights to more destinations from London than any other carrier. ” It operates out of three major London airports: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and London-City (LCY). In 2025, the British Airways route network has been boosted with recent additions, including Tbilisi (TBS) in Georgia and Kuala Lumpur (KUL) in Malaysia.
