CANTOR AIR EXPANDS FLEET WITH ACQUISITION OF THREE NEW TECNAM P2006T NG
The new acquisition will expand the current fleet of Tecnam P2008JC and P2010 TDI aircraft.
Capua, Italy – 19 February 2026. Tecnam is proud to announce that the Italian Flight Training Organization Cantor Air (IT.ATO.0004) has confirmed the acquisition of three (3) new P2006T NG aircraft, with options for additional units in the future.
This latest agreement marks a significant step in Cantor Air’s fleet modernization strategy, reinforcing a partnership built on shared values of innovation, safety, and operational excellence. The new twin-engine aircraft will join the academy’s existing fleet, which already includes the Tecnam P2008JC and P2010 TDI, further streamlining the training pathway for its cadets.
The selection of the P2006T NG (Next Generation) ensures a seamless transition for students. Cadets will continue Multi Engine Training to the final step of their Commercial Pilot License (CPL) on a platform that mirrors the avionics they have mastered on the P2010 TDI. Both aircraft feature the state-of-the-art Garmin G1000 NXi suite, allowing for a consistent “family feel” in the cockpit. The P2006T NG features an advanced Flight Management System (FMS) keypad, designed to familiarize students with complex avionics workflows. This configuration mirrors modern airline operational standards, ensuring full alignment with Competency-Based Training (CBT) principles.
Beyond educational benefits, the choice underscores Cantor Air’s commitment to sustainability. The P2006T NG, powered by twin Rotax engines, is recognized for its class-leading fuel efficiency and low emissions, aligning with the academy’s environmentally responsible approach initiated with its previous Tecnam acquisitions.
Capt. Roberto Magnani, Head of Training at Cantor Air, commented: “The acquisition of the new Tecnam P2006T NG aircraft will undoubtedly bring innovation and, above all, continuity with the decisions made two years ago. In fact, today our students will continue the IFR and CPL phases started on the P2010TDI, equipped with the state-of-the-art GARMIN NXi suite, moving on to the brand-new P2006NG while maintaining the same avionics platform, with the addition of an FMS system increasingly aligned with airline operational standards.
It is also worth highlighting that this choice responds to a growing demand for environmentally responsible solutions—a transition that CANTOR AIR had already embraced with the previous acquisitions of the TECNAM P2008JC and P2010TDI.”
Francesco Sferra, Tecnam Sales and Business Development Manager, said: “We are proud to see Cantor Air confirm their trust in Tecnam by choosing the P2006T NG as their multi-engine trainer of choice. This acquisition not only highlights the operational efficiency of our ‘Next Generation’ fleet but also validates the effectiveness of a standardized training path. By moving from the P2010 TDI to the P2006T NG, Cantor Air is offering its students a logical, modern, and sustainable progression that perfectly prepares them for the professional aviation environment.”
