Cebu Pacific receives three Airbus aircraft, raising 2024 deliveries to 10
Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific received three Airbus aircraft in a week, raising its 2024 plane deliveries to 10.
The following new aircraft touched down at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL): one A330neo which arrived on July 26, 2024, and an A320neo and an A320ceo aircraft delivered on August 3 and 4, 2024, respectively.
“Our continuous fleet expansion efforts underscore our commitment to provide safe, affordable, and accessible flights for every Juan. As the demand for air travel continues to rise, we are confident that we will be able to cater to more passengers looking to connect with other people or discover new destinations with Cebu Pacific,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer said in a statement.
Airbus NEOs are the latest-generation aircraft and burn 15% less fuel per flight and produce less noise compared to the previous generation. The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions.
On July 2 2024, the airline announced it had signed a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the purchase of up to 152 A321neo aircraft for USD $24 billion (PHP 1.4 trillion) based on list prices, the largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history.
