Cathay Pacific to launch Munich flights, resume Brussels route in summer 2025

Cathay Pacific has announced that it will be launching direct flights to Munich, Germany, for the first time as well as resuming flights to Brussels, Belgium, in summer 2025.  

This will provide travelers with non-stop connections between Hong Kong and two of Europe’s major cities, the airline announced in a press release published on December 3, 2024.  

Cathay Pacific will start its first passenger flights from Hong Kong (HKG) to Munich (MUC) on June 16, 2025. The new service will run four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  

Meanwhile, Cathay Pacific’s direct flights between Hong Kong and Brussels are set to return on August 3, 2025, with four return flights per week. Both the Munich and Brussels services will be operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. 

“Cathay Pacific has been flying non-stop to Europe for over four decades and we remain very committed to this important market,” said Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer. “In addition to launching these two routes, we are delighted to be adding more flights on our other European routes next summer, providing even greater choice and convenience for our customers travelling between Hong Kong and the continent.” 

In summer 2025, Cathay Pacific will increase its flights to Europe to 93 return trips each week, up from the current 78. This schedule includes four weekly return flights to Munich and Brussels, five daily flights to London, daily flights to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Manchester, Milan, Paris and Zurich. Additionally, there will be four weekly flights to both Madrid and Barcelona. 

Alongside passenger flights, the airline will also run seven freighter flights per week to and from Europe. 

According to Cathay, travelers from Europe to Hong Kong can connect to many destinations in the Asia-Pacific region from its main hub. This includes 19 locations in Mainland China served by Cathay Pacific and the budget airline HK Express.
